The Spirit of God 01/06/2014

Jarom 1:4

"And there are many among us who have many revelations for they are not all stiffnecked. And as many as are not stiffnecked and have faith, have communion with the Holy Spirit, which maketh manifest unto the children of men, according to their faith."

2 Nephi 33:1

"...for when a man speaketh by the power of the Holy Ghost the power of the Holy Ghost carrieth it unto the hearts of the children of men."

From these scriptures I have learned a lot this week. I learn how I myself have to be in order to receive revelation and how others have to feel in order to receive revelation.

We all can choose. We have our freedom because God knew it needed to be that way. When we testify of things that we know are true by the power of the Holy Ghost then that truth is brought UNTO the hearts of the people listening. There is a big difference between the word "unto" and "into." If/When we open our hearts to the spirit then we can be taught and receive the things we need to know, but we have to let it happen ourselves.

This week we are going to be preparing Tegan Larsen to be baptized on Saturday Jan 11th. She is one of the most prepared investigators I have ever met. As we were talking with her about why she wants to be baptized she said, "I know this is right and I have not had even one bad feeling about it the entire time I have learned about it." She went on to say, "I can feel it is right and I can never go back to where I was before because I think differently now."

This is what the Spirit does for us. It enlightens us and teaches us. It makes us better than we were everytime we feel it in our lives. What a blessing!

I testify that the Holy Ghost is real and that we need it.

Tegan is going to be baptized and after her baptism she is going to receive the gift of the Holy Ghost by men holding the power of God to do so. She is going to be able to feel the presence of the Holy Ghost everyday all the time. She is excited for this part and she knows that receiving this gift is what will complete her baptism.

We are so excited for her. :)

I hope all of you have a great week. Keep smiling! :)
-Sister Earl
